PU artificial grass is short for Polyurethane. A PU backing added to the grass (instead of latex) makes the backing non-absorbent. A PU back allows for the grass to be lighter, more malleable (for humps and shapes) and non-absorbent meaning that it is less likely to absorb animal urine if under heavy use.
